What happens during PRP treatments?

During PRP procedures, your specialist first takes a blood sample. They use a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the sample before numbing the treatment area (if needed) and injecting PRP beneath your skin, genital area, or scalp. You may receive multiple injections during each treatment session.

Your specialist may also apply PRP to affected skin with microneedling, a procedure that uses tiny needles to make microscopic tissue tears to stimulate cell regrowth.
